A leader in national and international NGOs and a long-serving champion of children’s right, gender equality and project management. Mandago has more than 20 years of experience in project management with strong leadership skills in financial and human resources. He had been a chief executive director and programs manager, senior child protection officer; children, adolescents and HIV prevention officer and children’s director. Currently, he works at PLANET Child Tanzania as a core founder and senior manager spearheading PLANET Child’s first program strategy and is integral to placing children, adolescents and women at the very heart of PLANET Child’s country’s work. Mandago comes from Tanzania having worked in Kigoma during the DRC refugee influx for six years, Juba, South Sudan, Shinyanga region and finally in Dodoma, Tanzania. Mandago’s unshakable commitment to children, adolescents, girls and women is drawn from many years of working alongside some of the regions most marginalized communities- from children, domestic workers, children working in the mines and or employed in farms as forced laborers, child trafficking and survivors of gender-based violence. He holds a Master of Science in Psychology, Public administration and social change from Walden University and a B.A. in Theatre Art and English Literature from the University of Dar-es-Salaam.
